Field Day - Feb 24th

This is our main work day to get our fields and snack shacks ready to go for the season and we have a long list of tasks we are hoping to tackle. But we need your help!

We will be doing everything from pressure washing the bleachers to resetting home plates to spreading infield dirt. We do all this work with the goal to make all of our fields as safe and playable as possible for your son or daughter. You do not need any baseball knowledge, construction expertise or have to be able to lift heavy objects and clean up the fields and snack shacks. Just have a willingness to pitch in.

Some items to bring if you can:

Metal rake, shovel, wheelbarrow if you have one (I suggest labeling items with your name)

  • Optional, but we will need a number of pressure washers, weed eaters and leaf blowers
  • Cleaning gloves to help clean out our snack shacks

Beyond bringing some of those items, all you need to do commit to spending time doing your part to help the league. We will be out there all day, starting at 8am.

So that we have coverage at all fields, please try to go to the field where your player’s division will play most of their games.  Rookie, Farm, 50/70 and Juniors can go to Granite Bay Community Park, and T-ball, AA, AAA and Majors can go to Feist. If we have an imbalance of workforce, we can shift people around.

I know everyone is busy, but so are the same old “regulars” that always seem to end up out at the fields longer than they should have to be on days like these. Even if you have an hour, stop by and pitch in and meet some of your fellow Lakeside parents!

  • New This Year!!! - To add a little friendly competition, a special prize will be given to the team with the MOST volunteers
