Home Run Derby & Hit-a-Thon

2021 Lakeside Home Run Derby

The 2021 Lakeside Home Run Derby is right around the corner and it is time to start getting fired up for our “Mid-Season Classic”.  This year we will be having our traditional “Adult” Home Run Derby, as well as a “Majors Division” Home Run Derby!

General Contest Information:

Each team in Lakeside will be allowed to have 1 representative compete. That representative must be an “official volunteer” with the team (Manager, Coach, Team Parent). The Lakeside 50/70 team will be allowed to have 1 “volunteer” representative as well as up to 2 “Player” representatives if they would like.

The deadline for each team to name their contestant(s) is Saturday, March 20th (if a team does not name their contestants by then, that team will not have a representative). The past “Champions” of the Adult Derby automatically get to compete and do not count as the representative of their team.  To name your teams contestant, please complete the 2021 Contestant Registration Form linked below.

Format for contest:

  • Pitching machine will be used (speed TBD)

  • Participants will hit in alphabetical order (by last name).

  • Each participant will get 5 warmup pitches

  • Each participant will get 5 “outs” (any hit that is not a home run is an out)

  • Top 4 participants from Round 1 will go to Round 2

  • Totals start over in Round 2 and format is similar to Round 1, the difference is there is 0 warmup pitches and 5 outs

  • Participant in Round 2 with most HR’s is our Champion

Majors Home Run Derby

Each Majors team will have 4 representatives compete (16 total players). The deadline for each team to name their contestants will be Saturday, March 20th.
